What
are Hair Extensions? |
| » A 'hair extension' is a way to add hair, strand by strand, to your own by means of fusion to create thicker, longer hair. Made from 100% human hair of the finest quality, the hair comes from Asia, Western Europe and India. |
| |
| How much do Hair Extensions cost? |
| » The price varies based on the
thickness and texture of your hair as well as the type of application you choose and on the look you wish to achieve. For an accurate quote I can offer
you a complimentary consultation. Your hair extensions
will last approximately between 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 months
depending on individual care and hair growth. |
| |
| Do I need a haircut after the application? |
| » A haircut will be needed to
complete the hair extensions process and to create a
beautiful, natural looking style. The haircut and
the follow up appointment (within 2 weeks after the
application) are included in the quoted price. Any
service after that will be priced according to the service menu . Removal of
the extensions will be at an hourly rate of $100. |
| |
| What if my hair is colored, permed
or relaxed? |
| » If you get any of the above
treatments, you must have them done at least one week
prior to the extensions. You can continue any of them
as long as they are done away from the bonds. |
| |
| With Hair Extensions, will I be
able to straighten or curl my hair? |
| » Hair dryers, curling irons,
flat irons and hot rollers are safe to use with hair
extensions, however be prepared for your regular styling
routine to change. Longer,
thicker hair does take more time to style and always
keep the heat away from the bonds. |
| |
| Will it ruin my hair? |
| » Your hair should be fine as
long as you always follow the CARE INSTRUCTIONS given
to you regarding maintenance. |

HOW
TO TAKE CARE FOR YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS |
| |
| Washing and Styling |
| Always keep you hair clean. Brush and
remove all tangles before washing, styling and before
bedtime. Gently pull bonds apart if it feels the bonds
are getting tangled. This will ensure the life of
your extensions. |
| |
| Washing: |
- Wet your hair in a downward
motion.
- Gently shampoo your hair.
DO not rub the around the bonds since they could
easily tangle.
- Apply your normal conditioner
all over except for the bonds and the roots running
your fingers through it for at least 2 minutes
and rinse. Conditioner is not recommended on the bonds.
- Towel dry gently. Apply
some leave in conditioner and run fingers through
your hair from scalp to ends and then gently use
the loop brush.
- Dry hair starting with
the bonds on a warm setting, NEVER use high heat
on the bonds. Proceed drying the rest of the hair.
You can use all heated tools on your extensions
but keep all heat away from the bonds. If using
a round brush take smaller sections than usual
and try not to pull or tug hard on the extensions.
It may result in loss of your own hair.
|
Tangling is common if you do not
follow these instructions. If that occurs call for
an appointment to have the tangles removed.
Attempting to remove your own extensions may result
in damage to your own hair. It must be done at the
salon. |
| |
| Exercise: |
| Wear a cap when swimming or keep your
hair out of the water to avoid chlorine and prevent
tangling. It is recommended to wear your hair tied
up gently or in a ponytail when you swim or exercise. |
| |
| Sleeping: |
| Never sleep on wet hair, make sure
your hair is completely dry before you go to bed.
It is also recommended to gently tie it up. |
| |
| Hair Care Products: |
| Use a good leave-in conditioner to
keep your hair soft. Don't overdo it. Too much conditioner
or any other hair care product can cause a build up
which creates tangling. Avoid hair products that contain
alcohol. Alcohol makes hair dry and can weaken the
bonds. |
| |
| You might think that you are experiencing
some hair loss than normal. The natural cycle of shedding
hair does not change; only your awareness does. Do
not perm, color, heavily condition or apply any chemical
process to your hair extensions. We will advise you
on all treatments and recommend products. |
